It launched today. Anybody out there got their hands on a copy? I’m seeing people at the WW forums that do.

At any rate, I don’t have much to say beyond that. I’m hoping I can get my hands on a copy sometime next week, but I don’t know what the actual timeline looks like for that.

I’m sure I’ll have more to post once I’m either running a Changeling or Geist game. In the meantime, you all should take care and, if you’re not already, read many of the other fine blogs on the RPG Blogger network.

  • Mine’s supposedly coming from Amazon, but they keep changing the estimated ship dates, so I’ll just be happy to get it before the end of the month.

Oh man. I hope you get it soon.

Are they still changing the date on you? They sent me one of their “you might like” mails and therein it said the release date was 2009-08-19. I’m reeeeeally hoping my FLGS has it by the end of the week. I want to run that shit, assuming I can get enough people and a game together!

  • Geist launched a long time ago. I got a copy in like 2006.

  • So, I’m STILL waiting. My copy shipped YESTERDAY.

    Have you played it yet?

  • Got it, haven’t read it. Ran the quickstart: disappointing. They didn’t really write the adventure to fit the characters, so it feels like a generic WoD story with a lot of ghosts, since the PCs almost never get opportunities to use their powers.

I got it, but I haven’t played it. :( September has been sooper crazy. I’ve actually picked up a number of RPG books but have had little to no time to read all of them, let alone run anything.

I’m sad to say that although I liked the characters in the quickstart, I’m not terribly surprised the adventure itself wasn’t great. If I had to pick one specific thing, it was probably the Thresholds and the concept of geists that really made me sit up and take notice. The sample characters are pretty good in that regard; I like the guy whose geist is the lady made from— what was it?— broken glass and pavement, who oozed blood.

I still hope to run a game! I think that’s next on my list. Possibly this won’t happen until October or even November, by which time I expect things to have settled down somewhat.
