Tiny Adventures: WHY YOU DO THIS

I’ll say some words: play D&D. In a Facebook application.

I can’t play it right now because it’s down. Here’s what Bruce Baugh has to say about it, which has enough in the way of screenshots and an explanation such that I want.

Damn you, Facebook.

And triple damn you, Wizards! If this is as good as it sounds, you’re basically going to waste an enormous chunk of my time.

Edited to make the link to the app an actual link.

  • I have played it (my Eldarin Wizard is level 3! Woot!) and It Is Good.

Brilliant, in fact; it’s more Tamagotchi than Fighting Fantasy (no choose-your-own paths – maybe that’ll come later) but it’s a terrific showcase for Skill Challenges in 4e.

And it’s darned addictive too – which is most likely what brought their server to it’s knees. Here’s hoping they buy a bigger box this time :D

I look forward to hearing what you think of it when it’s back up and running.

  • I can say right now that, based purely on what I read, I think it’s a fantastic idea. Clearly someone at Wizard gets what’s going on on the Internet these days, although I’m guessing they underestimated how popular it would be.

It’s too bad IT’S STILL DOWN, meaning I CAN’T PLAY.

  • Aaaaannnnnd………….

    Get playing, folks!
